New Delhi, July 25, 2025 — The Indian Embassy in Bangkok has issued a travel advisory urging Indian nationals to avoid travel to seven eastern provinces of Thailand due to ongoing border clashes with Cambodia.
The advisory lists Ubon Ratchathani, Surin, Sisaket, Buriram, Sa Kaeo, Chanthaburi, and Trat as high-risk areas following violent incidents, including landmine blasts and artillery shelling. The conflict has reportedly led to multiple civilian casualties and displacement of over 100,000 people.
Thai authorities have declared martial law in several districts, sealed border crossings, and advised against visiting national parks and tourist sites in the conflict zones. Indian travelers are advised to follow updates from the Tourism Authority of Thailand and the Indian Embassy, and avoid non-essential travel to affected areas.
Popular destinations such as Bangkok, Phuket, and Chiang Mai remain unaffected by the unrest
